Ex02 Technology
FabRoc is a polymer based material which is intrinsically safe, chemically inert and is fully CE compliant. Unlike the old wire based systems, the heating component continues to operate even damaged or torn without the possibility of a short circuit. It's 100% safe.
How does it work?
When the heating element is at room temperature, numerous conductive “chains” exist within the material. When low voltage is applied via a compact Li–Ion rechargeable batteries, current flows through the device, causing a rise in temperature. Once the temperature rises, it creates a small expansion causing the conductive particles to move apart from each other. The resistance of the device increases, the material conducts less current and the temperature is regulated at approximately 45 degrees Celsius, without any Hot Spots.
ThermoKnitt
The ThermoKnitt concept introduces a fully integrated knitted heated layer, operating at a very low voltage (3-7V) which contains the highly conductive FabRoc polymeric heating technology extruded in yarn format to provide safe, self regulating heat at approximately 45 degrees Celsius. ThermoKnitt is used in the latest Embers heated glove and is powered rechargeable Li-Ion batteries.
